Schlossresidenz
A sauna, a natural pond and a park to lose yourself in.
Time out does not need a spa with twenty treatments. It needs quiet, space and things you can do without booking them. The Schlossresidenz has plenty of all three: 80,000 square metres of parkland, a sauna that is ready around the clock, a natural swimming pond and a tennis court. All without booking, without a key card and without an extra charge.
The sauna
The sauna is yours day and night. You switch it on yourself; it needs a short time to heat up, and then it is all yours. It is small and meant for the guests of a house with fourteen units, not for day visitors. A curtain separates the sauna area from the corridor, and there is a relaxation room as well.
If you are looking for a large sauna complex with brine pools, the Königliche Kristall-Therme in Seelze is ten minutes away, and afterwards you come back to the quiet of the park.
The natural swimming pond
Right in front of the apartments lies a swimming pond for the guests of the house: no chlorine, just a plant filter, with a wooden deck at the entry point. From spring to autumn it is where guests spend their afternoons. One note that belongs here: the swimming pond is a natural body of water and is not supervised. The stones at the entry point can be slippery, so please step in carefully. Swimming is at your own risk.
Staying active
- Tennis court, open around the clock, evenings included.
- Fitness room with cross trainer, treadmill, Power Plate, ergometer, recumbent bike and mats, also open at any time.
- Table tennis outdoors.
- Bicycles to borrow free of charge from the house. The Leine-Heide-Radweg cycle route runs right past the estate.
The park
The park is large enough to walk in for an hour without passing the same tree twice. Two ponds, old weeping willows, meadows stretching to the horizon and a nature trail through flowers and herbs. The grounds are home to alpacas, hens, geese, white and black swans, and the bees whose honey is on the breakfast table each morning. The enclosures are at least three hundred metres from the apartments: you visit them when you feel like it.
Some visitors are not ours but come anyway: deer on the meadow in the morning, storks, now and then a fox.
In the evening there is the Grillkota, a Scandinavian-style hut with a fire pit in the middle of the park. It is free of charge; just let us know in advance so that we can reserve it for you.
Indoors, when it is grey outside
The lounge with its fireplace, the library and the honesty bar are open around the clock. Coffee, tea and cake are available all day. And because every unit has its own kitchen, you need not leave the house for a quiet evening.
What you will not find here
No massages, no treatments, no walk to the pool in a bathrobe. The Schlossresidenz is a house with a park, not a wellness hotel. Guests who know this before they arrive find exactly what they came for.
When it is at its best
From April to October the park is the living room of the house, with the natural pond and lawns for lounging. In winter it gets cosy indoors: sauna, fireside and long evenings. Both have their charm, and in the quiet months the house is especially peaceful.
Free for all guests
Wi-Fi, sauna, fitness room, tennis court, the Grillkota by reservation, bicycles and parking right in front of your apartment. The electric vehicle charging point in the courtyard is charged by consumption.
