09 Göttervogel: fabric on the walls, calm in the room.
The Göttervogel (quetzal) is on the courtyard and measures 36.32 m². What sets it apart is obvious at once: the walls are covered in fabric, which gives the room a soft, warm acoustic.
The rooms
A sleeping area with a 160 × 200 cm double bed, a living area, a kitchenette with dining table, hob, fridge and crockery, a bathroom, and a wardrobe and cupboard for longer stays.
Who it suits
Solo travellers and couples who like it quiet and a little more sheltered, and stays of several nights.
Why Göttervogel
Göttervogel, “bird of the gods”, is an old name for the quetzal from the mountain forests of Central America. The Maya and Aztecs held it sacred, and only rulers and priests were allowed to wear its emerald-green tail feathers. Guatemala made it the national bird and named its currency after it.
Included with every stay
Breakfast at the long table, daily from 7.30 to 10 am, parking in front of the door, free Wi-Fi, plus sauna, gym, tennis court, organic swimming pond and bicycles. Check-in from 3 pm via the key safe, check-out by 10.30 am. Guests must be 18 or over to book; accompanying guests are welcome from the age of 12. Pets are not permitted.
